Transfer path

Potential Transfer Majors:

  • Anthropology B.S.
  • Archaeology B.S.
  • Forensics B.S.
  • Native American Studies B.A.
  • Gender Studies B.A.

Potential Career/Options After Completing a Bachelor's Degree:

  • archaeology field technician
  • museum technician
  • park interpretive specialist

Advising Notes:

  • The anthropology courses can be taken in any order.
  • ANTH 301 can be taken at the same time as ANTH 300/480, or in a later semester. Students are encouraged to take ANTH 300/480 as early as possible because ANTH 301 has fewer sections and may be harder to get into. If ANTH 301 is taken in a later semester, it is recommended to take it as soon as possible following the completion of ANTH 300.
  • The CSU system recently created a new general education requirement (Area F: Ethnic Studies). ARC currently does not have any courses approved for Area F. See a counselor for your options.

Scheduling Notes:

  • ANTH 300, 301 and 310 are offered in the fall, spring and summer.
  • ANTH 320 and 330 are offered in the fall and spring.
  • The other ANTH courses are offered occasionally. See the schedule for course availability.

Other Notes to Students Preparing to Transfer:

  • Many universities require ANTH 341.
  • See ASSIST.ORG for the transfer requirements of the institution to which you plan to transfer.
  • The UC system requires proficiency in a language other than English equivalent to two years of high school study. See a counselor about fulfilling this requirement.

Honors Courses (H):

Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better who complete 15 or more units of Honors coursework earn an Honors Transfer Certificate and can take advantage of honors-to-honors transfer agreements with highly selective colleges and universities, both public and private.
