This program aims to develop the design and job-ready skills necessary for entry into the professional field of architecture. The curriculum focuses on developing critical thinking and problem-solving abilities as a means to creative thinking.
Architects plan and design structures, such as housing, office buildings, theaters, schools, and other physical property. Typical tasks may include designing/rendering, preparing scale drawings, Building Information Modeling (BIM) models, using computer programs or other tools, planning or designing structures in accordance with environmental, safety, or other regulations; directing activities of technicians engaged in preparing drawings or specification documents; preparing contract documents for building contractors; preparing information regarding design, structure specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, or construction time.
