Building Information Modeling (BIM) A.S. Degree - Architectural Design Technology

The Interior Building Architect (IBA) Program provides students with a background in architectural drafting.  Students who successfully complete the program will be capable of doing detail and layout work normally expected of the drafting aide or technician.  The Building Information Modeling (BIM) Program provides students with a background in computer-aided drafting and design  (CADD) and BIM. Students will be capable of performing pre-modeling (massing), modeling, and developing drawing documents normally expected of architects, designers, and drafting technicians.

Architecture drafter prepares detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for buildings and structures according to specifications provided by the architect. Tasks include operating CAD equipment or conventional drafting station to produce designs, working drawings, charts, forms, and records; Analyzing building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural design.  Career opportunities require more than an associate degree.
