An advanced degree in American Studies can lead to a variety of different careers, such as research, law, attorney, social worker, employment counselor, and others. Secondary school teachers teach one or more subjects, such as English, mathematics, or social studies, at the secondary level in public or private schools. It may be designated according to the subject matter specialty.  Career opportunities require more than two years of college study.
