Interior Building Architecture A.S. Degree - Architectural Design Technology

The Interior Building Architect (IBA) Program utilizes CADD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to prepare students for careers in the area of Interior Building Architecture, Architecture, with an emphasis on Architectural Design. Students will be capable of performing pre-modeling (massing), modeling, and developing drawing documents normally expected of architects, designers, and drafting technicians. This program is designed to provide job market skills, college transfer opportunities in the IBA, Architecture and/or Construction Management disciplines as well as opportunities for employment in a variety of positions within related industries.

Architecture drafter prepares detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for buildings and structures according to specifications provided by the architect. Tasks include operating CAD equipment or conventional drafting station to produce designs, working drawings, charts, forms, and records; Analyzing building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural design.  Career opportunities require more than an associate degree.
