Film, Television and Electronic Media AS-T Degree - Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum, Univ of Cal or Cal State Univ

This program provides students with a major that fulfills the general requirements of the California State University (CSU) or Univ. of California (UC) for transfer to baccalaureate degree programs in film, television, and electronic media.  Students with this degree will receive priority admission to the CSU system with junior status.  This AS degree comprises lower-division coursework typically required by CSU institutions.

Producers plan and coordinate various aspects of radio, television, stage or motion picture production, such as selecting script, coordinating writing, directing, and edition, and arranging financing.  Typical tasks may include writing and editing news stories from information collected by reporters and other sources; coordinating the activities of writers, directors, managers, and other personnel throughout the production process; reviewing film, recordings, or rehearsals to ensure conformance to production and broadcast standards.  Career opportunities require more than an associate degree.
