Humanities is the study of culture. Cultural understanding and sensitivity are fostered by examining arts, philosophy, religion, politics, and social events in a cultural context. This program offers an interdisciplinary approach to studying classical, modern, American, and non-Western humanities.
This major is intended for students who wish a general understanding of culture across several academic disciplines at the community college level. Several Areas of interest are offered, including the study of contemporary and ancient societies. All are intended to supply the student with an interdisciplinary foundation for further study of culture and an overview of the interest area chosen. Career opportunities require more than an associate degree.
