The welding program is designed for students interested in seeking or advancing employment in welding fabrication and industrial repairs. Welding encompasses study in electrical, metallurgy, chemistry, physics, design, and mechanical engineering.
Welders use hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products. Typical tasks include operating safety equipment, using safe work habits, recognizing, setting up, and operating hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
