Welding Code Certificate

This certificate specializes in the American Welding Society Structural Steel Welding Code (D1.1) and Seismic Welding Code (D1.8).  Students can select one of three courses to prepare for the Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) exam at AWS testing sites.  Students may take all focus courses to assist with preparing for the CWI exam, but only one is needed to earn the certificate.

Welders use hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.  Typical tasks include operating safety equipment, using safe work habits, and recognizing, setting up, and operating hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
