This degree prepares students for entry-level work in a variety of industries and settings, including private firms, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies at the local, state, and federal levels.

Advising Notes:

  • Students can substitute ESLW 340 for ENGWR 300/480.

Scheduling Notes:

  • Typically, NATR 300, 320, and 498 are offered every semester. All other courses are generally offered once per year.
  • NATR 330 is offered in the fall.
  • NATR 306 and 332 are offered in the spring.
  • NATR 324 is offered in the summer.

Other Notes:

  • If students take NATR 303 and 304, they will qualify for the Environmental Conservation Technician: Forest/ Rangeland certificate and the Environmental Conservation: Sustainability certificate at the end of semester 4.
  • If students also take NATR 305, they will qualify for the Environmental Conservation Technician: Fisheries certificate and the Environmental Conservation certificate at the end of semester 5.
  • If students also take NATR 346, they will qualify for the Environmental Conservation Technician: Water Resources certificate,at the end of semester 6.


  • If students also take NATR 302, they will qualify for the Environmental Conservation Technician: Wildlife certificate at the end of semester 7.
  • If students also take NATR 330, they will qualify for the Environmental Conservation Technician: Vegetation certificate and the Environmental Conservation Technician: Wildlife certificate at the end of semester 8.


  • If students also take NATR 322 or BIOL 352, they will qualify for the Environmental Conservation Technician: Conservation/ Restoration certificate at the end of semester 8.


  • An internship (NATR 498) is highly recommended as it opens up potential employment opportunities. Students can earn between 0.5 – 4.0 units for related paid or unpaid work experience including volunteer and internship positions through NATR 498. This course also works toward satisfying GE Area IIIb. See the Work Experience website for more information.
