Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) are the backbone of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system, helping to reduce injury severity and death at the scene of an accident or sudden illness and during transportation to a medical facility.
Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics assess injuries, administer emergency medical care, and extricate trapped individuals. Transport injured or sick persons to medical facilities.

All EMT 115 students must have an American Heart Association BLS for the Health Care Provider CPR card or BLS Provider Card or eCard (required under NHTSA and California Regulations) prior to the first day of class.
EMT students will need the following requirements to go to clinical (this will be discussed the first class day). These requirements should be done in EMT class and not before.
1. Background check

3. Physical examinations
4. Tb clearance
5. Drug screening
1. Have a high school diploma or GED
2. Be a minimum of 18 years of age as of the certification date
3. Pass the background check
