CRC’s art curriculum offers introductory and intermediate-level courses in painting, watercolor, digital art, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, and design, as well as courses in art appreciation and art history. Through the program’s art theory and art practice classes, students develop an awareness and understanding of the materials, tools, rationale and significance of art in society.
Individuals with baccalaureate degrees in art may have a professional fine art studio practice, K-12 education fields, arts administration within commercial or institutional museums, galleries, and community arts as registrars, preparators, educators, and curatorial staff. Individuals may also work as graphic artists or designers, illustrators, digital artists, framers, art handling/shipping, and other commercial work such as photography.
Advanced degrees in art may lead to careers as educators at the college or university level, art therapy, art directors, art editors, curators, conservators, and restorers for museums and galleries. Many careers may require training beyond the baccalaureate level.

The Zero Textbook Costs designation and logo are added to any course that provides free access to all required instructional materials. These are typically shared with students through Canvas. Courses that are designated as ZTC may still require students to purchase supplemental materials such as lab coats, a calculator, art supplies, etc. See full definitions and searching tips on the Zero Textbook Costs page of the college website.
