AA/AS Requirements

Associate Degrees require the following:

  1. Completion of a minimum of 60 degree-applicable units with an overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 ("C" average). A minimum of 12 units must be completed within the Los Rios Community College District.
  2. Completion of each required course with a grade of "C" or better for a major offered at Sacramento City College. 
  3. Completion of the California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC). Areas 1 through 6 must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.

Students with Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate Credit (IB) test scores should notify their Counselor to learn more about how test scores may be used for credit.

Program Enrollment Eligibility

To be eligible for enrollment in the program, the student must meet the following criteria:

  • The Federal Aviation Administration requires that all applicants read, write, speak, and understand the English language. FAA guidance on language proficiency can be found in the current version of Advisory Circular AC60-28 and the Level 4 proficiency standards of ICAO Doc 9835.
  • A minimum grade of "C" in FLTEC 200 Professional Pilot Orientation.
  • Be at least 16.5 years of age at the time of enrollment.
  • Student must obtain an FAA Class II Medical Certificate & FAA Student Pilot Certificate. No more than one alcohol-related motor vehicle action within three years, or more than three alcohol-related motor vehicle actions in any time period.
