Advising Notes:

  • Students are expected to take a minimum of 8 units from MUP 310, 311, 320, 321, 323, 324, 330, 331, 340, or 341. Which courses are used depends on the student’s concentration.
  • Students can substitute ESLW 340 for ENGWR 300/480.
  • B.A./B.M. programs often require a music history course like MUFHL 310.
  • Students should discuss the B.A./B.M. degree options with the Music department faculty or staff.

Scheduling Notes:

  • MUFHL 310, 400 and 410 are offered in the fall.
  • MUFHL 401 and 411 are offered in the spring.

  • Most CSUs require an entry piano proficiency demonstration.

Honors Courses (H):

Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better who complete 15 or more units of Honors coursework earn an Honors Transfer Certificate and can take advantage of honors-to-honors transfer agreements with highly selective colleges and universities, both public and private.
